Peace is a state of higher somatic functioning
It starts in the body as a live appreciation for the power of the Fight-or-Flight response. The knee jerk reactions that dominate a culture of violence are physiological ones and do not require political or philosophical responses as much as they require biomechanical intervention.
When any stress impacts you, just exhale
Allow the re-bound of the in-breath to follow effortlesly. A re-vitalizing and re-energizing tonic when you need it the most, during stress.
Just breathe out from where ever you are
Breathe out and let the inhale return by recoil action. An out-breath can occur from anywhere within the breath cycle. Upon contact or impact, just exhale. Simple as that.
A natural antidote to stress
Breathwork allows us to moderate stress reflexes as well as fuel our systems with oxygen. No memberships required. Just a set of lungs and a few practical exercises.
Decompression
To become more peaceful, become proactive about activating the Relaxation Response. Although life provides plenty of opportunities to "hold one's breath", it is possible to learn to release tension and reduce stress. This is always a good first step.
May all beings experience peace.
